Derick Lekgotla Mokgatle is the Managing Director of Sea Rail (Botswana) (Pty) Ltd (“SeaRail”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Botswana Railways established in 2013. SeaRail’s provides integrated transport and logistics solution and is charged with the mandate of developing and operating a dry port for Botswana at the Port of Walvis Bay, Namibia.

With over 16 years of experience in the transport and logistics industry Mr. Mokgatle spent 9 years in various roles at Botswana Railways, ultimately leaving at the senior level of Project Manager. For the last 7 years, he’s played a pivotal role at SeaRail as Dry Port Manager.

His academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Botswana, coupled with certifications like Prince2 Practitioner and completion of management training programs, notably the Management Development Program from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

Mr. Mokgatle excels in strategy development and implementation, projects and program management, as well as business development.
