Tsholofelo Moatshe is a seasoned food manufacturing industry professional with over 15 years of extensive experience across multiple segments of the agri-food value chain. A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Food Science, she has built a distinguished career in meat processing, indigenous products development, packaging, confectionery manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and food standards application for both local and export markets.

Tsholofelo possesses in-depth expertise in food regulatory frameworks, standards implementation, and navigating trade barriers that impact food security. Her career journey spans diverse roles, including research and development on indigenous food products in collaboration with the University of Botswana and the National Food Technology Research Centre (NFTRC); quality assurance in confectionery through Cadbury Botswana (a subsidiary of Mondelez International); and SMME development and mentorship through the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA). She has also worked as a food technologist in the retail sector and as a food safety and quality management consultant in the fruits and vegetables wholesale industry.

Currently, Tsholofelo is the Managing Director of Lilylap Foods (Pty) Ltd, a company that plays a pivotal role in strengthening Botswana’s food systems. The company specializes in food safety and quality training and audits, manufacturing licence facilitation, agricultural produce permit applications, process documentation, and primary producer compliance through Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) assessments. Her work focuses on bridging the gap between primary producers and food processors, driving supply chain transformation, and enhancing compliance to support food security and trade across borders.
