Theo Modise is an accomplished entrepreneur and executive with over 15 years of leadership experience across financial services, retail, and technology project management. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Khana Capital, a technology-enabled supply chain financing company established in 2020, and Co-Founder of Khana-Ex Technologies (Pty) Ltd.

Under his leadership, Khana Capital launched Botswana’s first locally built Digital Supply Chain Financing platform, designed to automate invoice discounting and unlock liquidity for SMMEs against approved invoices. This platform has become a vital solution to liquidity constraints faced by small businesses in Botswana. Khana Capital is also a proud participant in the Debswana Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme, underscoring its role in promoting inclusive economic growth and financial innovation.

With a strong foundation in retail and financial services systems, Theo has deep expertise in implementing large-scale technology projects that align digital solutions with market needs, regulatory frameworks, and financial inclusion objectives.

Earlier in his career, he built an e-commerce business division for a retailer formerly listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange, overseeing website development, integration with in-store systems, and operational support structures across three terriroties – South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. He also served as Managing Director of a Mobile Money operator in Botswana, where he was responsible for designing the strategy and establishing full operations. This included integration with third-party services, building an extensive agent and merchant network, and tailoring the platform for the local market—covering access channels (USSD, web, and app), pricing strategy, and adoption frameworks.
