Shai de Toledo is a co-founder of HB Antwerp, a mineral infrastructure company that leverages cutting-edge technology to bring transparency to the minerals. With extensive experience in the diamond supply chain, Shai recognized the potential for technology to disrupt an industry that had remained unchanged for generations.

Under Shai’s leadership, HB Antwerp has developed a closed-loop supply chain that streamlines the transformation process of natural diamonds, ensuring full traceability and transparency. In cooperation with Microsoft, his team created a new secure digital ledger, memorializing every step of the diamond supply chain.

As the managing partner of HB Antwerp, Shai has spearheaded the development of innovative technologies from ledger to the HB Capsule, an Internet of Things device that secures each HB diamond throughout its journey from the mine to the buyer.

The new business model proves it is possible to do good and be successful in the diamond industry, and beyond.  Shai’s unconventional business approach has also led to the launch of Signum, a new initiative aimed at transforming the diamond industry and changing how consumers view diamonds.
